Its hard to believe that one person can be known as a Platinum producer, three-time world champion DJ, and guitar virtuoso, but for infamous this is just the way it is. Infamous is most notably recognized for his recent production of “Mr. Carter” Featuring Jay-Z on the multi-platinum selling album Tha Carter 3 by Lil Wayne, but to the surprise of many, his success started long before the mainstream media took any notice.
By the age of 21 Infamous had already won three world DJ titles and toured the world performing in front of thousands, both as a solo headliner and as a part of Latin Grammy winning group Ozomatli. As a former member of the legendary DJ crew The Allies (A trak, Craze, Klever, Develop) when Infamous turned 22 he decided to retire from the turntablist scene and return to his roots of playing guitar.
A lifetime of on-again off-again guitar lessons inspired Infamous to start a rock band called Antenna that within two years was being pursued by almost every major label in the country. After receiving support from MTV, and the You Hear it First producers the band was already negotiating their first major label deal but during the process dismantled due to irreconcilable personal differences.
Within a month of the bands break-up Infamous was introduced to Lil Wayne through longtime friend, and producer of “Fireman”, Develop. Without hesitation Infamous took advantage of what seemed to be a once in a lifetime opportunity and gave Wayne a CD with five beats, one of which was the beat for “Light up My LA LA”. The song was set to be the first single off of Wayne’s highly anticipated Carter 3 but after a flurry of leaks “Light Up My LA LA” went from being a possible classic Weezy song, to just another internet banger. Wayne took notice to Infamous’ talents and recorded to more than 20 of his beats. After most of the songs leaked on to the internet Infamous finally delivered the track “Mr. Carter”.
Infamous is continuing to add to his constantly growing discography with such artists as Gym Class Heroes, Fat Joe, Wale, Kid Sister, Cassidy, Ace Hood, Juelz Santana, Jah Cure, etc. His production style has been noted as “versatile” and “authentic” because he doesn’t pin point his sound to any certain trend or region. His talents as a musician that plays six instruments, and his past accomplishments as a DJ, sets him up to be one of the most sought after new producers in the game because he can easily supply a hit for any artist from any genre.
