DJ Mónica X

After 15 years mixing with great technique and an elegant taste for music the veteran Spanish DJ Mónica X has received the nomination of Best Trance DJ and Best Nacional DJ in the Spanish VII edition 2004 Deejaymags Music Awards.

Her personal Tech-Trance & Progressive style have given her the opportunity to play with DJs such as Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, Kai Tracid, Pulser, Thrillseekers, Peran Van Dijk, Katana, Hernan Cattaneo Joey Negro, Funkstar De Luxe, Sven Väth and even, DJ Tiësto. Mónica X is one of the Spanish most international artists and has been invited to play in Holland, France, Germany, UK and even, US.

She has appeared on the covers of the best-known clubbers magazines and asked to participate in many of the most important TV programs in the country. At the end of 1999, in collaboration with Nando Dixhontrol, the DJ1 Music Culture Danzine magazine was launched, where she was to work as editor and graphic designer for four years.

She has played in over 250 clubs throughout Spain, having residences in huge clubs such as Wonder (Lérida), Barçalles and Megatron (Barcelona), Teknopolis (Madrid), and Play (Donosti).

She has produced more than ten tracks including her famous Trance remixes Vangelis' “Charriots Of Fire” and Jean-Michel Jarre’s “Orient Express”, ten CD compilations such as “Made in DJ: In Session, Vol. 2” and “Women DJ’s, Vol. 1”, all of which have been a great success in sales.

At present she is the manager of Work 4 Danz –promotion and DJ management agency- with which she has already booked national tours and special sets with Deep Dish, Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, Yoji Biomehanika, Hernan Cattaneo or Steve Lawler… You will surely get a closer picture of her checking out her personal website: www.djmonicax.com.

In the near future some of her most important projects will see the light; SGAE –Spanish Authors Society- will publish “Diario de una DJ” (Diary of a DJ) which talks about her life and experience in this industry and the film “Hey DJ!” will be released. Here she features along with Ferry Corsten and she is the only Spanish DJ in the film. And the launch of her new record label The Brotherhood Recordings.

Thanks to the support of her fans, she was placed 174th in English magazine DJ’s official list of the best DJ’s in the world in the 2005. Furthermore, the clothing brand Custo Barcelona has chosen her to perform throughout their entire 2006 national and international tour.
