Though her face may be new to many, DJ SynCity has been involved in the music and entertainment industry for years. Originally known for her skills as a battle break-dancer on the International scene & Foxy Brown's former back-up dancer, SynCity began her assent in the industry as an intern at Cornerstone, a marketing and promotion firm that caters to DJs and the music industry. Syn discovered DJing during her days at Cornerstone, whose office lounge was equipped with treadles and a mixer, became Syn's classroom. The basic set combined with her fascination for scratching and blending became her pass time during her lunch breaks. It wasn't long before SynCity was spinning at block parties in Harlem and the Uptown Comedy Club. In 2004, Syn landed a gig producing The Circuit, an online TV show, shortly after her first year at Touro College where she majored in Audio Engineering. Asked by the executive producer of The Circuit to create a promotional item for the show, SynCity produced her first mixtape geared toward the young, trendy viewers of the show to rave reviews. At this time, she was given her own DJ set as a gift from Roc Raida (X-ecutioners), a well known and respected veteran in the DJ world. SynCity's efforts took a more serious turn for the better after being featured on MTV's "Mixtape Mondays" a few times as a notable selection with the Vote or Die mixtape-- hosted by Hip Hop impresario, Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, with the "2AM Heat" Volume 2 CD and "the Draft G-Unit Reloaded" hosted by newly recruited, the infamous Havoc of Mobb Deep. You can also find her on Hip Hop music website, ALLHIPHOP.com, with her latest exclusives. SynCity's name is traveling the world quickly. Syn had the opportunity to be touring with Nicole Wray (DDMG/Def Jam Records) as her DJ and also appeared on RapCity, The Basement with Big Tigger on BET. She has been nominated twice at the last Annual Justo's Mixtape Awards for Best Female Mixtape DJ and Best Rookie of The Year categories. You can catch her spinning in New York at the legedary Rucker Park Basketball Tournaments in Harlem, and at the hottest parties across the nation from Fashion Week Events to Private Mansion Jump-Offs. Lately, you might have catched her on the Budlight/Maxim Magazine Tour, or perhaps as a guest DJ during NBA All-Star Weekend, or maybe spinning for Adidas, or finally, hosting and running her new venture called "Tha Epydemik". SynCity has come a long way from her roots in Montreal. Selected Clients Adidas Budlight/Maxim Magazine Tour Ecko Soundz like Comedy Zab Juddah (Boxer) Allhiphop.com J.
