One of the greatest wordsmiths in hip-hop Keith Elam a.k.a. Guru, for “Gifted Universal Rhymes Unlimited” — passed away Monday, April 19th after long battle with cancer. Guru rocketed to stardom in the late 1980s when he partnered with DJ Premier to create the group Gang Starr. Guru’s passing came two months after he suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized in New York. Our condolences goes out to his family and close friends.

The only person that he didn’t beat was Taylor Swift. She was named the year’s favorite artist. After 25 years I think it’s well deserved. Bon Jovi put on a great show for a crowd of thousands outside the new $1.6 billion Meadowlands stadium in New Jersey on October 22, 2009. It was just a mini concert to announce a bigger gig that will be taking place there when the stadium opens in the summer of 2010. Bon Jovi will be the first band to perform there, and that will also be the bands kick off for their world tour.
